CAF will present virtual art and high-level exhibitions in the X Larga Noche de Museos (Long Night of Museums)
On May 28th, the Institution will offer the public of La Paz diverse artistic shows that go from mapping and interaction spaces to workshops and exhibits of renowned Bolivian artists
In the X edition of the Long Night of Museums, to be held on May 28th in La Paz, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, will present an exhibit of virtual art, actors and parkour acrobats in the front of its building, in addition to the show "Alquimia de los Sueños" by Alejandro Zapata in Artespacio, and exhibitions of renowned Bolivian artists in the areas of sculpture, painting, and videos in the underground.
The first event, called LLIJUY (which means "lights" in Aymara), consists of the imitation of a video game in mapping format, with actors that will interact with images reflected in the front of the building, achieving a movement of light that will be accompanied by electronic music and a live folk band.
Artist Alex Zapata, a very relevant representative of Bolivian art, reognized by his work in realistic and abstract painting in large format, and protagonist of countless exhibitions at a national and international level, will present a sample of oil paintings inspired by the Salar de Uyuni.
Inside the building, the public will be able to enjoy different exhibits from renowned Bolivian artists divided in levels. The first space will show the artistic video "Rastreadores" by Claudia Joskowicz. The second exhibit will be of the work of Adriana Bravo, who will show her creations based on conceptual cards, drawings, and stencils, reflecting her way of thinking with respect to art, and her way of creating.
The second level will contain ceramic objects of Elba Bairon, the exhibition "Jardín de Astillas" by Ramón Tito (in stone); sculptures in diverse materials by Douglas Rodrigo Rada; objects created by Andrés Bedoya, and wood sculptures of Marcelo Callau from Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The last level will have spaces where artists will represent the way they work in their workshops: Roxana Hartman with her paintings; Alfredo La Placa with an exhibition of collection objects and photographs; and Ramón Tito with sculptures..
Finally, CAF will offer a space for experimentation with light in which the public will be able to make movements using helmets, breastplates, and swords with LED lights. These movements will be captured by photographer Roberto Ranero and will be given to them as a memory of their visit to the Large Night of Museums.
