Applications are open for the project management program for the development of La Paz and Santa Cruz
CAF's Training Program for the Management of Programs and Projects for Development is aimed at professionals of the public sector who are responsible for the design and execution of development projects. The course will take place at the Universidad Privada Boliviana
The second edition of the "Training Program for the Management of Programs and Projects for Development" that CAF, Development Bank of Latin America implements in Bolivia through the Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB), will start on July 6th in the cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz.
The program is aimed at professionals who are responsible for technical departments and project supervision and execution areas in governmental institutions, independent consultants, and professionals of different areas who are interested or work in areas related to the development or implementation of development projects.
Applications must be submitted through admisiones.upb.edu/postulacion/and the process will be open until the capacity has been reached. This is a four month program (80 academic hours) and it is based on a classroom modality. Teachers include Bolivian professors, experts from the Instituto Latinoamericano de Planificación Económica y Social (ILPES-ECLAC) (Latin American Economic and Social Planning Institute), and specialists from CAF.
In addition, 70 scholarships have been created (35 per city), and the requirement to obtain them are to have a Bachelor's academic degree, work in the public sector, and have a job related to the sibject of public investment projects. Requirements are not discriminatory.
The objective of the Program is to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of participants in the conceptual and practical management of technical and economic tools aimed at the preparation, evaluation, and management of development projects, in order to promote a change of attitude in organizations, and the use of instruments for decision making regarding public investments.
This CAF initiative will also be implemented in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela, with the support of ECLAC, through ILPES, its training arm, providing academic advice to participating universities. In the first version of the Program in Bolivia, more than 70 students graduated in both cities.
