Children from the Núcleo Musical de Ica (Musical Core Group of Ica) offered their first concert
The children from the Core Music Group of Ica, of the Sinfonia por el Peru (Symphony for Peru), participated in a mass concert in the auditorium of the San Luis Gonzaga School
Ica, August, 2016. Boys and girls from the Core musical group of Symphony for Peru of Ica showed their artistic talent during a choral concert in the auditorium of the San Luis Gonzaga School, where they showed the results of this musical and personal experience.
The activity gathered more than 1,000 inhabitats of the community of this southern region of Peru, who saw how children who have been randomly chosen to participate in this social project, are capable of interpreting beautiful melodies, showing amazing skills thanks to their discipline, effort, search for excellence, and capacity to work in teams.
The core group of Symphony for Peru in Ica is possible thanks to the support of the Regional Government of Ica, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, through its "Music to Grow" program, and Symphony for Peru.
Participants in this activity included Fernando Cillóniz, Governor of Ica; Miguel Molinari, Executive Director of Symphony for Peru; Freddy Hidalgo, CAF Executive; as well as regional authorities and representatives from other organizations involved. In addition, a video message was received from tenor Juan Diego Flórez, President of Symphony for Peru.
It should be noted that this social project works using the power of music to provide values, habits, and positive attitudes that will remain with the children as a seal of their personality for everything they want to do in their lives.
As with other similar experiences around the world, this change in the children will have a multiplying effect through example toward their families and the whole community, becoming a real hope for a better Ica.
