Public administration officials will work on the study of the challenges for the construction of peace
CAF's Governance, Political Management, and Public Management Program will be focused on understanding Colombia's armed conflict, and will be taught in Bogota, Buenaventura, Monteria, and Villavicencio
With the purpose of training critical actors that contribute to the development of management and leadership capacities of authorities and governmental technical teams, in addition to members of organizations of the civil society, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Universidad del Rosario, with the academic supervision of the Postgraduate School at the George Washington University, started training a new generation of the course in High Studies in Governance, Political Management, and Public Management. .
The inauguration of the Program in Bogota included the participation of 80 new members in addition to Raúl Velasquez Gavilanes, Academic Coordinator of the Program and Associate Professor of the Universidad del Rosario; Carolina España, CAF's Director Representative in Colombia, and Christian Asinelli, CAF's Director of Institutional Development. They all expressed their best wishes to the new students and thanked their commitment for participating in these types of programs.
Carolina España stated, "CAF works with social and productive inclusion projects, as anything that is related to institutional growth is essential to continue strengthening the capacities of our national and local leaders that are starting their training on these subjects with the purpose of contributing to the country's development".
At the same time, Asinelli expressed, "The program not only enables training but also provides spaces so that people like you, with an interest in public matters, may integrate a network of graduates of these programs in Colombia and connect with the participants of all the countries of the region. A network that will allow you to be in touch with people that have the same interest in changing public policies to improve the quality of life of citizens".
The course will also be taught in Buenaventura, Monteria, and Villavicencio, and will be focused on understanding Colombia's armed conflict and the challenges for the construction of peace in their territories.
The program has been taught for 15 years, and 12 years in Colombia, including more than 50,000 thousand graduates throughout the region. With these projects, CAF consolidates its institutional effort, generating opportunities for support through the promotion of local capacities.
