Organizations partner to advance the Platform for Innovation with Purpose to accelerate sustainable development in Latin America
The Platform's purpose is to broaden the impact of the social investment sector by bringing together advanced science and technology with social innovation and new business models, in order to produce effective, large-scale changes that address the complex social and environment challenges that the region faces.
CAF -Development Bank of Latin America-, the Alfredo Zolezzi Foundation, Fundación Avina, Social Progress Imperative (SPI) and World-Transforming Technologies (WTT) will present on November 17 in Washington, D.C., the Platform for Innovation with Purpose, followed by the signing act of the Cooperation Agreement between CAF and Fundación Avina, in order to drive high-impact initiatives and strengthen management of this new space.
The Platform for Innovation with Purpose is a dynamic alliance of global, regional, national, and local organizations eager to join forces to effect sustainable changes in Latin America and to improve quality of life for millions of people by connecting cutting-edge technology with social innovation and new business models.
The signing of the agreement between CAF and Fundación Avina lays the foundation for the Platform's capacity to accelerate solutions that ensure that the most vulnerable groups gain access to quality public goods and services while promoting large-scale transformation across Latin America at the same time.
Currently, the platform reaches 21 Latin American countries through 9 programs that involve over 7,000 organizations in the social, business, governmental and academic fields. The main areas of action are inclusive recycling, water access, sustainable cities, migrations, political innovation, technology for social change, climate change, conservation of the Gran Chaco Americano region and the implementation of the Social Progress index.
