CAF offers immediate aid for Chile fire victims
CAF—development bank of Latin America—approved an immediate donation of USD 150,000 to Chile to help address the devastating effects of forest fires on the population.
CAF—development bank of Latin America—will make a USD 150,000 donation to Chile in order to help contain the forest fires of recent weeks and provide assistance to victims.
“I wish to express our solidarity with the Chilean people in the face of the forest fires that have ravaged large portions of their territory and brought about tremendous human and material losses. Similarly, we express our admiration for the fortitude and determination shown by the people in responding to these ravages of nature,” said Enrique García, executive president of CAF.
CAF hopes to contribute to emergency humanitarian aid efforts through relevant channels determined by Chile’s government. The multilateral financial institution reiterates its commitment as a strategic partner for the development of its member countries.

At its meeting in Lima, CAF approved 14 loans for 9 countries, focusing on social inclusion, infrastructure, competitiveness and climate action, and pledged to double its portfolio by 2030.
