Third Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Logistical Port Communities
The major players in the public and private sector of 13 countries and 27 port systems will gather in Lima to discuss the role of public policies in the promotion and facilitation of logistical port communities and their prospects on industry impact.
CAF-development bank of Latin America-, jointly with SELA and Peru’s National Port Authority, will hold the “Third Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Logistical Port Communities”, in Lima on August 16-17, 2018.
This year, the meeting will be held at the Melia Hotel in Lima, Peru, and will feature a special debate on the role of public policies in the promotion and facilitation of logistical port communities (Chile, Peru and Colombia case studies) and their prospective impact on the industry. Progress in projects related to (maritime, land and port) National Single Windows will also be reviewed.
The “Program for the Creation of the Digital and Collaborative Port Network (D&C Port Network)” is an initiative launched by the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), through a technical cooperation agreement with CAF-development bank of Latin America.
The Program has advanced a series of technical activities between 2014 and 2018 with major port communities in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, in order to identify, promote and disseminate the best institutional, digital and innovation practices in the region.
The Program calls for the Third Latin American and Caribbean Regional Meeting of Logistical Port Communities on August 16-18, 2018, and the II Symposium of Scientific Research in Port Logistics Chain on August 15, 2018. These events will bring together industry executives, ministry officials, public agencies, consultants and researchers from 13 countries and 27 port systems.
