CAF: best international agency in 2018 iAgua Awards
CAF has won the iAgua Award for best international agency for the third consecutive year thanks to its work on water and sanitation issues.
The prize was awarded in Madrid by iAgua, a communication platform focusing on water management, as a recognition of the work developed by CAF in closing the gaps in access to quality water and sanitation services in Latin America.
David Tuesta, corporate director of Strategic Affairs at CAF, was designated to receive the award in this fifth edition, from Gari Villa-Landa, manager of International Affairs of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS).
Tuesta thanked for the award and said that “this encourages us to continue pursuing our goal of improving the wellbeing of some 650 million Latin Americans, including 30 million who do not have access to water and sanitation services, and the nearly 150 millions without a high-quality water supply service.” In addition to CAF, the nominees for the 2018 iAgua Award for best international agency included: The European Commission, the FAO, the UN, and the Ramsar Foundation.
The awards ceremony was held at the Roca Madrid Gallery, and was attended by more than 200 people. The keynote speech was delivered by Elisa Martínez Bermejo, manager at Roca Madrid Gallery, while founder and director of iAgua, Alejandro Maceira, hosted the awards, one of the most prestigious events in recognition of the work on water issues.
