Partners in Chile Development Agenda
Identifying opportunities for joint work on initiatives that promote Chile’s sustainable development and integration with Latin American partner countries was the theme of the meeting between CAF Executive President and the Minister of Finance.
As a way to reiterate the commitment of CAF— development bank of Latin America—to boosting Chile’s sustainable development and productivity, CAF Executive President Luis Carranza met the Minister of Finance Felipe Larraín.
During the meeting, President Carranza highlighted CAF’s strong relationship with Chile and the opportunities to explore joint actions for the benefit of the population through funding, technical cooperation and generation of knowledge in line with the government’s priorities and CAF’s comprehensive strategy for sustainable development and regional integration.
On his visit to Chile, Carranza, together with Secretary General Victor Rico, also met with CORFO’s Executive Vice President Pablo Terrazas, where they exchanged ideas to promote economic growth and competitiveness in the coming years, in an effort to identify future projects and alliances for both institutions.
Lastly, as part of the Second China-Latin America High-Level Investment and Cooperation Forum, organized by CAF with the support of the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), CAF Executive President and Secretary-General met with a delegation from China’s Ministry of Finance, led by Deputy Minister Yu Weiping, where they discussed the main developments and challenges in economic growth, social development and integration between China and Latin America and how CAF’s know-how and expertise can be leveraged to achieve greater impact on the goals set by China’s authorities in the region.
