New CAF Representative in Panama
Lucía Meza has been appointed as CAF representative, with a mandate to strengthen CAF’s relations with the country by designing work programs with the public and private sectors that promote sustainable development and regional integration.
Executive President of CAF-development bank of Latin America-Luis Carranza has appointed Lucía Meza as the new CAF representative in Panama.
Lucía Meza has over 30 years of professional experience in planning, financing and execution of infrastructure projects, as well as accompanying programs with international financial institutions. She joined CAF in 1993 and has held various positions within the organization, including project manager for the Northern Region under the office of the Vice President of Infrastructure, where she has been since 2010.
Prior to joining CAF, she worked at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in departments tasked with project assessment and promoting foreign investments in Latin America, among other positions, in which she collaborated with an assortment of public entities, including Venezuela’s Ministries of Planning and Development.
Meza earned a degree in Economics from the Central University of Venezuela – her home country – and holds a Master's degree in Infrastructure Management and Financing from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
As representative, she will contribute to strengthening relations between CAF and Panama by designing work programs with the public and private sectors to foster sustainable development and regional integration.
