CAF reinforces its support for climate change with a contribution to the International Development Finance Club (IDFC)
The nonrefundable resources granted by CAF will support initiatives that aim to accelerate climate action and strengthen resilience as part of the IDFC Agenda. The grant seeks to also strengthen cooperation among the development financial institutions engaged in this high-level platform
CAF – development bank of Latin America has awarded a USD 1 million grant to the International Development Finance Club (IDFC) to strengthen its Climate Facility, which aims to support climate change initiatives globally.
The resources granted by CAF to IDFC’s Climate Facility will support development financial institutions -from all over the world- in their investments aligned with Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement, key pillars of the IDFC Agenda and CAF’s Strategy.
As of today, these resources have supported initiatives led by CAF, totaling USD 350 thousand: a feasibility study on electro-mobility for Latin America; and an economic analysis for the transition towards a Low-carbon Latin America.
With this contribution CAF reiterates its commitment with high development impact interventions, expanding its scope beyond Latin America, and moving towards becoming a green bank, in accordance to its Executive President vision, Sergio Diaz-Granados.
